The latest update is that my freind Adam married Katie after dating for 5 years! The wedding was awesome and I was priveleged enough to be the best man. The wedding was beautiful and the party afterwards was second to none! The wedding party even got cut off by the bartenders by 11:30pm if that tells you anything about the how out-of-hand the party had become. Girls were being tossed and flipped swing style on the dance floor and I think that may have freightened the management. It was really all in good fun though! I took a biologist position at AMEC Earth and Environmental in Pittsburgh, PA! I started work on March 31st and I have been working slowly at relocating the rest of my life down here to PA. So far so good with the job. It is interesting and I will be getting into the meat of the work in the next couple of weeks. I have been putting together the logistics for two projects on Lake Erie doing Clean Water Act section 316(b) baseline surveys of the number of fish that are killed and injured by the cooling water intakes of a couple of big powerplants. It is important work and good experience, especially on the management front of the project.
I found a roommate, Dana Botti, online down here in Pittsburgh's Southside. Thanks to all those who sent her a reference for me. The apartment is an almost new two bedroom, but it isn't available until April 23rd so I am currently staying in a vacancy one bedroom that is pretty awesome. My Mom and Emily both got married! Emily on Sept. 25th to DJ Tisdel, and my Mom to Jack Koester on October 5th. Wendy and I broke up back in mid October. I finally finished my MS degree in Biology in December 2004! I also got my taildragger endorsement for my pilot's license so I can fly my dads new airplane, a 1946 Piper J3 Cub!
Looking forward then...I have been searching diligently for a real job while working as a temp at Metal Standard Corp. were my best freind Adam is my boss. Adam and Katie are getting married on April 30th 2005! I am waiting to hear back from the University of Michigan about starting work on my PhD in the School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE). I should hear back from U of M in mid-late February. Cross your fingers for me!
